In the media: Building an offshore aquaculture pen in China

Designed by offshore oil and gas services firm De Maas, the pen will enable aquaculture companies to farm fish away from the shore, in large volumes, says the firm. A local Chinese firm will stock yellow croaker fish in the pen -- which is near completion – when it is installed off the coast of Fujian. Future pens, however, could farm Atlantic Salmon off the Scottish Hebrides, or seabass and seabream in the Mediterranean, says De Maas.

It’s fascinating to see offshore oil and gas expertise being applied to aquaculture—especially the idea of raising yellow croaker off Fujian now, then possibly salmon in the Hebrides later. I’d love to follow how the pen performs once it’s fully installed. By the way, I keep a free in-stock availability finder I like to share. https://stock-finder.net/
